Spirit broken

The other day I was reading an article about a group of people who went to a foreign country and found themselves in a orphanage. In this orphanage was a hundred babies all in separate cribs. What struck them was that there was not a single one crying. It was silent. The reason was that these babies had cried, and cried, and cried, some for days, and weeks only to at one point come to the realization that no one was coming. No one cared if they cried themselves to death, their spirit broken. I so totally understand how they feel.
